96.3 Hao FM celebrates first anniversary

Singapore’s SPH Radio station 96.3 Hao FM kicked off its three-month anniversary celebrations last weekend.

Hao FM is a Mandarin infotainment music station catered to fans aged 45 and above. The station takes listeners through a musical journey of their formative years with classics from the 80s and 90s. It also works very closely with the SPH Chinese Newsrooms to deliver up to date news and discussion, keeping listeners informed on the go.

The highlight of the celebration was a special exhibition of around 100 cassette tapes of albums by popular Mandopop singers from the 80s and 90s, complete with cassette players for visitors to listen to the tapes.

The displays were a hit with the crowd, many of whom were excited to see cassette tapes of their idols. The 96.3 Hao FM DJs also led a singalong with the enthusiastic crowd.

Another highlight was a photo exhibition of some of 96.3 Hao FM's memorable moments over the past year. The station even managed to work the lyrics of its theme song, specially written by Chen Jiaming and Jimmy Ye, into the exhibition.

Carine Ang, Senior Programme Director of 96.3 Hao FM said: “This song is our station's soul. The two songwriters have accurately captured what we imagine 96.3 Hao FM to be, with beautiful lyrics and a nice melody. Our listeners like it, so we have included it in the exhibition so everyone can appreciate it.”
