Radio City launches in Patiala

 

Indian network Radio City announced the launch of its station in Patiala, the royal city of Punjab.

Popular Punjabi pop artist Daler Mehndi introduced the network’s offerings which promise to focus on content that carries local appeal, blending Punjabi Bhangra music with Punjabi versions of its popular shows like ‘Love Guru’.

Radio City, a part of Music Broadcast Limited, is a subsidiary of Jagran Prakashan Ltd.

Music Broadcast Limited currently has 39 stations, including 11 newly acquired stations in Phase III auctions.

Radio City just launched four new stations in Rajasthan and one in Kanpur in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Commenting on the launch, Abraham Thomas, CEO, Music Broadcast Limited said: “With each new city that we enter, we promise to give our listeners the best of localized and customized content and with this launch, we are elated to introduce Love Guru in Punjabi for our listeners in Punjab.”

“There are very few brands who understand the essence of good music and the mindset of a listener. Radio City does both, and I welcome them to Patiala with open arms,” said Daler Mehndi at the launch.
