Radio City tackles pothole menace

As monsoon rains cover the country and potholes become one of the biggest menaces for people, India’s Radio City took a step to bring about a positive change by tackling the issue with the help of listeners and civic bodies with its campaign ‘Gaddha Pehelwan’.

The initiative is being rolled out in northern state of Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and the cities of Patna and Ranchi.

As a part of the campaign, citizens notify the station’s team about the biggest potholes in their localities; the team along with local authorities paint potholes as pehelwans (strongmen) to spread the message of ‘City ka Har Gaddha Pehelwan Hoga Sammanit’ (Every mighty pothole will be honoured).

Until now, Radio City has successfully painted 150 potholes and repaired more than 50 potholes.
