Samsung launches ‘free’ music streaming service

Samsung has launched a subscription free, ad-free music streaming service, joining an already crowded market.

Milk Music, which is currently only available in the US, offers 200 genre-based radio stations.

Users can fine tune the music choice by scoring favourite songs or by selecting certain options like new releases.

You can also build your own stations from a library of around 13 million songs.

The service has some restrictions though. Users can only skip songs up to six times an hour per station and you need to be online to listen.

Reports suggest that app will let users store the last 500 listened to songs.

From launch, Milk Music can only be used on Samsung’s premium smartphone/tablet products including the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy Mega, Galaxy S4 Mini, and the upcoming Galaxy S5.

Samsung says it plans to expand the service to other markets.
