UFM 100.3 returns with its top 1000 countdown

Singapore’s UFM 100.3’s annual campaign U1000 is back for its third edition this year.

The campaign gives listeners a chance to nominate and vote for their favourite Mandarin songs to be played on the station.

Last year, more than 5,000 unique listeners took part in the three-month campaign.

Taiwanese singer Tiger Huang’s ‘Not that Simple’  topped the chart, while Jacky Cheung’s ‘Farewell Kiss’ ranked second and Jeff Chang’s ‘Love Tidal Wave’ was in the third place.

In the first phase of the campaign, listeners can nominate their favourite songs via SMS from February 23 to March 1.

Voting will take place from March 9 to 27, when nominated songs will be listed for an online poll.

From March 30 to April 13, the top 1000 songs will be played on-air according to their ranks.

A series of live gigs will be held from mid-March to May for fans and DJs to come together and enjoy the songs featured in the U1000 chart.

UFM 100.3 is Singapore Press Holding (SPH) Radio’s Mandarin infotainment station targeted at working professionals aged between 35 – 49 years.

The station’s drive-time programmes are anchored by veteran DJs Wenhong, Limei and Xiaozhu in the morning followed by DJ Anna from 10am to 1 pm. DJ Yuling takes over from 1pm to 4pm and makes way for DJs Jingyun and Liangquan from 4pm to 8pm. DJ Xinying rounds up the day from 8pm to 12am.

Carine Ang, Program Director of UFM 100.3, SPH Radio, said: “I look forward to the list of top 1000 songs nominated and voted by our listeners, and also to find out if our listeners’ taste and preferences have changed since the last U1000 campaign.”
