India's First Emergency Radio, Cuddalore Emergency Radio 107.8, Tamilnadu, celebrated World Radio Day (WRD) with a special WRD message by world rapid chess champion Viswanathan Anand.

Anand spoke on ‘Radio and Sports’ and also answered questions raised by children and youth of Cuddalore district.

Cuddalore Emergency Radio was installed during the flood of December 2015 to help people broadcast life-saving vital information.

The station broadcasts authentic information during disaster and at other times airs disaster preparedness and nation building programs.
