China radio boss makes Gulf visit

Director-General of China National Radio (CNR), Wang Qiu recently visited the Sharjah Media Corporation (SMC) headquarters, reports local media in the UAE.

His delegation visited Sharjah Radio and TV studios and were given a presentation on the technology and equipment used to support SMC’s News Centre and programme production.

He was received by Dr Khalid Omar Al Midfa, Director-General of the SMC.

The visit was a part of China and UAE’s efforts to continue building bilateral relations and exchange media-related issues.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Khalid said: “Such visits play a vital role in exchange of expertise we are pleased to provide every possible form of support to media organisations to ensure successful future collaborations.”

Wang Qiu, Director-General of China National Radio, commented: “We noticed the obvious role played by SMC leaders as well as their outstanding efforts in the use of social media to augment traditional media and ensure delivery of useful content.”

The delegation also invited the SMC to visit China and participate in various media events held there for distinguished media collaborations.
