Test driving an Audi connected car dashboard #RDE18

The latest Audi A8 is on display at RadioDays Europe.

Audi is a thought leading company when it comes to connected cars.

The model on display has a fully connected dashboard entertainment system, which can use the embedded SIM Card in the car or tether to the SIM from the driver's phone.

It can seamlessly switch between the different transmissions of broadcast radio, AM, FM and Digital Radio, saving the driver from incurring data costs, and when the signal goes out of range it can find the station again from its stream to continue listening.

The Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM) Consortium is sponsoring a conference session and holding a workshop at the upcoming Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union Digital Broadcasting Symposium to be held from March 5 to 8 at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 

During the conference session, DRM Chairman Ruxandra Obreja will give a keynote speech, "Technologies and Standards: What's New? What's Next?" on March 6.

The DRM Consortium, represented by its Indian and international members and partners (including All India Radio, Ampegon, BECIL, BBC, Communication Systems Inc., Fraunhofer IIS, Gospell Digital Technologies, Nautel, NXP, RFmondial), will participate in the international BES (Broadcasting Engineering Society – conference and exhibition on terrestrial and satellite broadcasting, taking place in New Delhi, from February 26 to 28.  

TRAI submits recommendations on Digital Radio Broadcasting in India

The Telecom Regulatory Authority India (TRAI) has submitted its recommendations on Digital Radio Broadcasting in India and said that the government should notify a policy framework for digital radio broadcasting in the country in a time-bound manner with a clear roadmap for roll-out of services to enable smooth transition from analog to digital mode.
