Hong Kong activists guilty of illegal broadcasting

Leading Hong Kong pro-democracy activist Tsang Kin-shing has been found guilty of illegal broadcasting.

Tsang, along with two other activists, was convicted of broadcasting without a licence by the territory’s Eastern magistrates court on Friday, according to public broadcaster RTHK.

Tsang – nicknamed the Bull – is former member of the Legislative Council.

He launched Citizens Radio in 2005.

It broadcasts on 102.8FM and can be heard throughout most of Kowloon and parts of Hong Kong island.

The station has even boasted appearances on its talk shows by Hong Kong legislators.

There’s no word on the penalty that the three received.
