OneOcean.fm pops up to celebrate World Ocean Day

OneOcean.fm is a pop up radio project in celebration of World Ocean Day on June 8, 2017, and one of the United Nations’ (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) to build a better world by 2030.

SDG14 is focused on Life Below Water: to conserve and sustainably use the ocean, seas and marine resources.

Between June 5th and 9th, the UN is holding an Ocean Conference focused on realizing strategies from nation states, NGOs and communities to meet the SDG14 targets.

OneOcean.fm is broadcasting from this UN conference telling us why we must protect our Ocean and the actions being taken across the globe to do so.

Its mission is to raise awareness about the threats our oceans face and what needs to be done to protect it.

It is providing short informative packages on some of these solutions, as well as a never ending stream of beautiful beach music from some of the most talented DJs, producers and artists around the world to get listeners excited about our oceans.

Some of the well-known names who have lent their voice to the station include Harrison Ford, Jeff Bridges, Adrian Grenier, Ian Somerhalder and Penelope Cruz.

The station specialises in downtempo beach sounds with roots in soul, funk and jazz, trip hop and cutting-edge lounge, the very best chill-out through to deep house and electronica. It believes in the power of music, community, creativity and well-being to nurture a more conscious, considered and prosperous way of life for everyone.
