Radio Kantipur to honour Nepali musicians

Nepal’s Radio Kantipur is set to host the ‘16th Music Honours’ on the weekend to recognise artists who have contributed to Nepali music.

The awards, organised by the country’s largest commercial radio station, are in their 16th year.

They cover 10 different categories, including a Lifetime Achievement Award.

The best singer and songwriter will be judged on the number of requests received by a song over the last year.

One of the popular radio jockeys at Radio Kantipur will be chosen for the Best Radio Journalist award.

16 listeners from across the country will also win a chance to attend the event, where leading local singers like Sugam Pokhrel, Dharmendra Sewan and Deepak Bajracharya will perform for the audience.
