Red FM & Air Asia: Now everyone can fly?

The morning show team at Malaysia’s Red FM took a leaf out of Richard Branson’s book recently when they donned makeup and skirts to become Air Asia “stewardesses” for a day.

JJ and Lil Kev, who host the Red Breakfast WTF, were recently given a one day crash course in how to walk the aisles of an aircraft after losing a bet with Air Asia’s Group Chief Executive Tony Fernandes.

The training included a fire fighting drill, how to slide out of a plane and how to use a raft in case of emergency.

Hairy legs did not stop them from donning short red skirts and black heels with full on makeup including red lipstick (!) at their graduation ceremony.

The guys were fitted for their uniforms a week before; due to his tall stature, JJ required a specially tailored outfit and also borrowed Branson’s heels!

“Not many can say they have walked in Sir Richard Branson’s shoes so I’m excited that I can do so and mean it. Just like him I am going to keep my facial hair when I work it as an air stewardess, “said JJ of the experience.

The pair will take to the skies in full uniform for a two-sector Air Asia flight to Kota Kinabalu on September 25, 2013 at 9.30am.

Red FM is giving listeners the chance to be passengers on the flight to be waited on by JJ and Lil Kev.
