Social Media: A new mantra for public broadcasting

Internet and social media have transformed the media broadcast scene across the globe.

A 5 day workshop was conducted by Prasar Bharati at its national training academy NABM this week in Delhi to impart information on social media usage across all platforms to India's national broadcaster.

DRM showcases emergency warning system in India

An emergency/disaster warning workshop, showcasing the strengths of the Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM) platform, took place in the Indian capital New Delhi on Wednesday.

Attendees included executives from public broadcaster All India Radio (AIR),  media consultants and radio listeners.

AIR is transitioning to digital radio by 2017, according to the organisation's website and already uses the technology for its international shortwave services.

Transmissions are also being tested domestically.
