Star Media Group Malaysia’s Chinese language station 988 FM saw a huge turnout at its ‘Chinese New Year House of Happiness’ roadshow.

Despite traffic and sweltering heat, fans came to catch a glimpse of their favourite announcers at the Taman Connaught night market.

Announcers Cassey and Anson led the show assisted by 988 Cruiser drivers Hanz and Polly.

They played a series of games with the crowd, one of which saw fans trying to imitate a chicken’s clucking for as long as their breath held.

Other games included rock-paper-scissors and trying to recite as many traditional relatives’ titles in an extended family within a time limit.

Both announcers also star in a series of Chinese New Year short films produced by 988, the DVD of which was handed out.

Anson stars in a film is about handphone etiquette and the traditional Chinese New Year reunion dinner.

Cassey starts in a film about the lou sang custom for prosperity and in another one about giving out – ang pow.

So far, the team has visited the night markets in SS2, Taman Connaught and Taman Megah, among others.
