ABU Prizes 2018 open for entries with a new award category

Members of the Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) can now send in their entries in for the ABU prizes 2018.
 

The ABU Prizes aims to promote the excellence in radio and TV production in order to raise educational and cultural standards and to strengthen international understanding among the people of the ABU member countries and regions.

This year, there is a new category for a new media award titled ‘Digital Content Award’ to recognise and honour online media contents developed as an extension of existing TV or Radio programmes and/or stand-alone original productions that are tailor-made using a wide range of available digital tools. This award honours the quality of the content as well as the digital impact they create among audiences.

The categories for radio include Drama, Documentary, News Reporting, Community Service Announcement (CSA), Interactive Programme and Innovative Programme.

This year the Award Ceremony will be held early October in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, as a gala event of annual ABU General Assembly.
