Asia Pop 40 goes on air in Thailand

Asia Pop 40, the region’s first syndicated chart show, is now airing in Thailand.

The programme, which is produced by the Singapore-based EON Syndicated Media, went out for the first time this weekend on Phuket Live 89.5.

The show’s regular timeslot is Saturdays from 6-9pm with a repeat on Sunday from 9am-12noon.

Phuket Live 89.5 is owned by Class Act Media, a Thai company which also publishes The Phuket News.

The English version of Asia Pop 4o first launched on Singapore’s Class 95 last month hosted by ex-Channel [V] and E! Asia Network presenter Dom Lau.

The chart is compiled in conjunction with iTunes Asia.asiapop40logo

A Mandarin version is also planned.

Phuket Live’s Station Manager Steve Johnston said the new show was a welcome addition to the output: “At last, a Pop 40 that actually represents the region! Well done Dom and the team, the show sounds great”.
