Asia Pop 40 Mandarin celebrates one year on air

This weekend, Asia’s first locally-produced, regionally-syndicated music chart programme reached a significant milestone – the 1st year anniversary of the launch of the Mandarin version of the programme in China.

Since Episode 1 was aired in late June 2016, the show has grown in popularity in China and can now be heard in more than 55 cities with more than a million people all over China, as well as various Chinese digital platforms.

The Mandarin version of Asia Pop 40 is hosted by Malaysian-born actor, singer songwriter and radio celebrity Max Lim.

It is three hours in length and apart from showcasing the latest music, also features latest movie reviews, albums reviews, artist interviews and massive competitions.

The show is also streamed on its own dedicated iHeartRadio digital channel.

Creator & Executive Producer of Asia Pop 40, Rob Graham, stated: “When we first broadcast in China, I could never have imagined the speed at which new stations would pick up the show. It’s very encouraging to see the first localized version of Asia Pop 40 being received so well and we are expecting to see continued growth in the China market over the next year.”
