Asia radio adspend growing 8 percent – Dentsu Aegis

The latest worldwide advertising expenditure forecast for by Dentsu Aegis Network shows a robust eight percent growth for radio in China this year.

In Japan, radio advertising spend is forecast to rise 1 percent in 2014 and 0.6 percent in 2015.

According to a report in The Media Online, global year on year radio ad spend growth is projected to slow down marginally to three percent in 2015.

The medium saw a moderate rise of 3.7 percent in 2014, with continuing demand because of the industry’s competitive costs and flexibility.

Radio’s global percentage share of ad spend is predicted to be 6.5 percent in 2015, down from 6.7 percent in 2014.

As a regional market, Dentsu Aegis forecasts that Asia Pacific will outperform global ad revenues across all media with 5.4 percent growth rate for 2014 and 5.9 percent in 2015 along with double digit growth in some markets.

A stable 7.6 percent growth is predicted for China in 2014 and 7.9 percent in 2015 – again across all media.

In Japan, total ad expenditures for 2014 are to grow at 2 percent and 1.7 percent in 2015.

Australia is forecast to grow at 0.1 percent this year and 0.9 percent in 2015.

Buoyed by the recent elections, India is predicted to see 8.7 percent year-on-year growth in 2014, which will continue into 2015 at 9 percent.
