Indian network Big FM has launched a show by Bollywood composer Salim Merchant in its Hindi speaking markets.

The two-hour show – called ‘#Salim’, will premiere on May 15 and is based on trendsetting music of Indian cinema.

Merchant, who is also a playback singer, will share interesting trivia on iconic songs, music formats and instruments used in their making.

He has scored music and background for over 100 films and has more than 2 million followers on social media.

The show will also invite legendary artists from the Indian music industry, including Bappi Lahiri, Usha Uthup, Jatin-Lalit, Shaan, Shankar Mahadevan, Anu Malik, Kumar Sanu, Amit Trivedi, Udit Narayan and Sonu Nigam.

Commenting on the show, Salim Merchant said: “Music is my life, and associating with it in any form is always satisfying. I intend to make the most of it by going closer to my fans.”
