Chang Jin is the new AIBD Director

The Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) appointed Chang Jin from China as its Director on January 15.

The AIBD interview panel that selected him was chaired by Rosarita Niken Widiastuti, President of AIBD General Conference and also included Anothai Udomsilp, Chairman of the Strategic Planning Team and Executive Board members Adilah Shek Omar and Laxman Humagain.

The AIBD is a regional inter-governmental organisation servicing countries of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN-ESCAP) in the field of electronic media development.

It is hosted by the Government of Malaysia and the secretariat is located in Kuala Lumpur.

Jin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English for Science and Technology from China’s Xi’an Jiaotong University and Master of Science degree in Media and Communications from the London School of Economics.

Since 1992, he has worked with the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Radio, Film and Television.

During his recent postings, he has been involved in the advancement of the exchanges and cooperation in radio and television between the Chinese government and the Asian, African and Latin American regions.
