Comrex to display new products at the NAB show 2016

The Comrex Corporation has announced that it will be displaying new products and upgrades at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show from April 18-21 at the Las Vegas Convention Centre, Nevada.

Products to be presented include: ACCESS 2USB and Rack, firmware version 4.0 for ACCESS, LiveShot (Comrex’s video‐over‐IP acquisition and distribution tool), VH2 (a new VoIP two‐line hybrid), Fleet Commander (multiple codec management software), STAC VIP, and BRIC‐Link II (pictured).

At NAB 2016, Comrex will debut VH2. Similar in function to Comrex’s DH22 (which works on analog phone lines), VH2 provides users with the capabilities of a two‐line digital hybrid, as well as the benefits of VoIP. With simple front‐panel controls, VH2 enables users to manage telephone calls easily in excellent, studio‐grade quality. Many broadcasters find VoIP trunks to be more cost effective and readily available than traditional phone lines. VH2 also connects directly to several VoIP PBXs.

ACCESS 4.0 is also a featured part of Comrex’s display. CrossLock, a new feature included with ACCESS firmware 4.0, provides an added capability for bonding, which enables multiple networks to be utilized at once. In addition to network bonding, the user can configure multiple networks for redundancy mode, a better choice for reliability on higher bandwidth links. Additionally, forward error correction (FEC) and other ACCESS reliability tools are included with the firmware. With ACCESS’s portable user interface and wide variety of encoders that set the standard for innovative remote broadcasting equipment, ACCESS 4.0 enables higher quality, lower latency, and improved stability from even more locations. Currently available for ACCESS; soon to be available for BRIC‐Link II.

Comrex also plans to feature LiveShot version 1.4. With the introduction of LiveShot firmware 1.4, LiveShots now interact using a peer‐to‐peer model, making it easier and more efficient to configure LiveShot connections. LiveShot 1.4 is also more closely related to Comrex’s Switchboard server, meaning that users will no longer need to memorize unit IP addresses to connect a fleet of LiveShots. LiveShot delivers high‐quality, low‐latency video and audio over a range of IP networks. Capable of providing two‐way media simultaneously even over challenging networks, LiveShot provides return video, two IFB returns, and director/camera PL. At only three pounds, LiveShot is versatile enough for a range of applications.
