DRM plans strong presence at ABU DBS 2015

The Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM) Consortium is planning a strong presence at the ABU Digital Broadcasting Symposium (DBS) 2015 Conference in Kuala Lumpur in March.

DBS is one of the premier digital events in Asia and DRM is the universal, openly standardised digital broadcasting system for all broadcasting frequencies.

On the opening day on March 4, there will be a general update titled ‘DRM – Delivering to All Your Needs’.

On March 5 there will be a workshop called ‘DRM – Clever Radio for Smart Countries’, which will focus on the significant cost and spectrum savings delivered by Single Frequency Network deployment.

The event will offer participants an opportunity to learn more about digital radio and to experience the full DRM technology.

They will also be encouraged to ask questions about creating a healthy digital system involving key stakeholders like listeners, regulator, broadcasters and the receiver manufacturing industry.

The company will also offer participants a chance to experience its new Avion DRM radio, which has recently been unveiled in India.

Ruxandra Obreja, DRM Chairman, said: ”We can bring the latest developments to a wide range of specialists while having DRM championed by some of our best DRM experts and practitioners.”
