First Broadcast Indonesia Conference begins in Jakarta

Opening the Broadcast Indonesia Conference in Jakarta today, Indonesia’s Vice President Jusuf Kalla began the first such conference to be held in this country.

He said technology is “changing the way we work and Indonesians must innovate” to take the country forward.

Speaking after the Vice President’s opening ceremony, Communications Minister Mr. Rudiantara told delegates: “We have our own market and we deserve to have our own event.’

Indonesia has come a long way in technology infrastructure to become “a smart city building on cooperation and opportunities.” The conference showcases the latest technologies and provides a marketplace for new technology.

The Broadcast Indonesia Conference takes place today and tomorrow, in parallel with the Communications Conference. The technology exhibition continues until the weekend.
