George the Poet is a speaker at Podcast Day by Radiodays Europe

Podcast Day by Radiodays Europe (RDE) has announced George the Poet as a speaker.

Podcast Day is a satellite event which was created in response to the need to bring together the Podcast world in Europe.

The first RDE Podcast Day was held in 2017 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

This year, the event will be held in London on June 13.

George the Poet is a London-born spoken word performer of Ugandan heritage. His innovative brand of musical poetry has won him critical acclaim both as a recording artist and a social commentator and has seen his work broadcast to billions of people worldwide, most notably performing the official poem for the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

George’s podcast expertly weaves his inimitable story-telling with intricate sound design and a powerful original score.  BBC R4 called one episode “a story that could change the world”.

In 2019 his podcast was nominated for 6 British Podcast Awards including Best New Podcast, Best Fiction, Smartest Podcast, Best Current Affairs, Best Arts & Culture, and Moment of the Year.
