Gerald Koh returns to Singapore radio

The radio presenter better known by his stage name ‘Boy Thunder’, Gerald Koh is joining Singapore’s 987FM to host a nightly show from Monday to Friday.

‘Itchy Pyjamas with Gerald Koh’ goes on air next monday, airing from 8pm to 12 midnight on the MediaCorp station.

Koh previously hosted the evening show on Hot FM 91.3 but left earlier this year.

Until recently, he held the world record for the longest marathon radio music show, lasting 77 hours and 11 minutes, which he co-hosted with Adam Piperdy.

Excited at joining the station, Koh said: “It has always been a dream to be on 987FM with so many fan driven activities. From the tweets I’ve been getting, they were the ones who made my decision to jump back on radio again so easy.”

He promises to bring back a “full-on listener interaction”, comedy segments and a daily music chart based on listeners’ votes, the 987 Top 10 at 11.

Vice-President for English Programming (Music), Ms Georgina Chang said: “Gerald has such an amazing understanding of how to use social media to excite and engage the youth’s imagination.”
