Indian entries lead Asian radio finalists at New York Festivals 2020

 

The New York Festivals (NYF) International Radio Program Awards has announced its 2020 Finalists.

Entries from 40 countries across the globe were judged by the Grand Jury on production values, organization, presentation of information, creativity and use of the medium.

All entries achieving Finalist status advance to the medal round of judging.

13 entries from radio networks in India achieved the finalist status – highest among entries from Asia.

These include five from Radio City, four from Radio Mirchi, two from Club FM 94.3, and one each from Ishq 104.8 FM and MY FM.

Hong Kong has eight finalists, all from Radio Television Hong Kong.

Radio Taiwan International has four finalists, followed by Qatar’s Al Jazeera Digital and UAE’s Club FM with two finalists each.

South Korea’s Daegu MBC and Russia’s Radio Sputnik have one finalist each.  

Prominent broadcasters took the lead including RTÉ Ireland, 2019 Broadcaster of the Year, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, 2015 Broadcaster of the Year, CBS News Radio and Radio New Zealand.

NAB Show is not being held in April and the Inaugural Storytellers Gala will not be held on April 21 in Las Vegas as planned earlier.

Radio and TV & Film Awards winners will be announced on April 21 and showcased in the winner's gallery along with special video presentations.
