Radio Udaan, an Indian online station for the visually impaired, recently honoured its volunteers at its second annual convention in Ludhiana.

The station, which began operations two years ago with 30 visually-challenged RJs, boasts of more than 20,000 listeners.

Speakers at the convention gave insights into policies useful for the visually challenged and problems faced by visually-impaired women in educational, professional and social fronts.

The event also saw a host of cultural activities including a play which was scripted, narrated and presented by station RJs.

The theme of the play was matrimonial perspectives related to visually impaired people.

The preparations of the play were done over Skype by the cast members without actually meeting each other and it was directed by RJ Danish Mahajan

As many as 20 visually impaired RJs were also present at the occasion who shared their issues with guest speakers.
