International Radio Festival concludes in Milan

This year’s edition of the International Radio Festival (IRF) concluded in Milan last week.

It was the world’s largest on-air and public radio event attracting over 12,000 visitors and 425 music radio professionals.

The IRF is the definitive conference and B2B Forum to debate the business and curation of music radio content, where participants are invited to showcase their formats and productions and broadcast them live on-air to their listeners back home.

The 2016 edition took place in the beautiful UniCredit Pavilion on Milan’s prestigious Piazza Gae Aulenti where national and international radio stations broadcast their radio shows live-on-air to radio professionals and millions of listeners around the world.

The four-day event involved 125 radio stations,  194 radio hosts and 225 radio shows.

It featured 170 hrs of live-on-air global programming and reached 100+ million listeners around the world.

Darryl von Daniken, founder of the IRF, and Filippo Solibello of Radio RAI 2 said: “We are absolutely delighted with the success of the IRF Milano edition and how the Italian and global radio industry, and radio listeners around the world, embraced the event, making the world’s largest on-air radio festival also the world’s largest on-location public radio event welcoming over 12,000 visitors”.

Next IRF Milan edition has been confirmed for April 6 to 9, 2017.
