Mediacorp partners radio exhibition

Mediacorp and the Singapore HeritageFest 2016 have joined hands to present an exhibition on 80 Years of Radio in Singapore.

The exhibition is being held at the National Museum of Singapore.

It will focus on the importance of radio in bringing communities together, and its influence on Singaporean’s cultural identities.

The exhibition includes two sections.  The first, Celebrating Radio: Sounds From The Past traces the evolution of Singapore’s broadcasting history from the 1930s to 1980.

There is also a fun activity corner for kids to make vintage radios and design their own vinyl record covers.

The second section, In Tune With The Times takes visitors through the DJs Hall of Fame and features milestones in Radio’s history.

“These exhibitions aren’t just about celebrating radio, but also radio’s role in building community and bringing people together,” said Debra Soon, Chairperson of the Radio 80 Committee.

The exhibitions open to public till July 17 from 10am to 6pm.
