Mediacorp stations claim eight of top 10 spots in Singapore

 

As Mediacorp celebrates 80 years of radio in Singapore, its radio stations have claimed eight of the top 10 spots in the latest Nielsen Radio Diary Survey conducted between March and May 2016.

 

LOVE 97.2FM holds the number one position for the third wave in a row, with a listenership of 19.4%. 

Taking second and third places are YES 933 and CAPITAL 95.8FM with listenership of 18.5% and 17.3% respectively.

In fourth position is CLASS 95, Singapore’s number one English radio station.

 The other Mediacorp radio stations in the top 10 are GOLD 905 (#6), Warna 94.2FM (#7), 987 (#8) and Oli 96.8FM (#10).

 Chitra Rajaram, Head of Community Segment said: “We are thrilled that two of our community stations, Oli 96.8FM and Warna 94.2FM, are not only in the top 10 list; they also dominate Time Spent Listening*. We are constantly engaging our listeners for feedback via traditional means and social platforms and are deeply encouraged by their response.”

 Oli 96.8FM listeners spent an average of over 16 hours a week on the station while Warna 94.2FM listeners listened for an average of over 15 hours a week.

 Youth station 987 also showed strong traction with its audience, clocking an average of over seven hours per week for Time Spent Listening.
