Malaysia’s Astro Radio stations MY FM Sabah and Sarawak have increased their local broadcast to 10 hours.

Listeners in these cities are now offered more local segments, news and updates about what’s happening in and around their neighborhood.

MY FM Sabah is introducing a show called ‘MY FM Music Brunch’ from 10am to 1pm, which will be hosted by Natasha.

She will treat listeners with jokes and latest music at 10am on ‘MYFM LOL’. Listeners can catch popular classic soundtracks on ‘MY FM Theme Songs’ at 11 am and information on the best food in town at 12noon, through ‘MYFM Food Hunt’.

MY FM Sarawak has extended its local hours by introducing ‘MY FM Super Drive’, which will be hosted by Addy and Chris.

The show will include a contest segment called ‘MY FM What’s on Air’ and a gag segment called ‘MY FM ‘Keh Kiang’. Listeners can also catch more localized content on ‘MY FM Global Language’, where they will be invited to introduce a topic using dialects.

As part of its regionalization efforts, Astro Radio has broadened its presence in Borneo since 2010 when it introduced localized content on ERA FM, MY FM and hitz.fm in Kuching and Kota Kinabalu followed by Miri and Sandakan in 2013.

According to the company, broadcasting live from the hearts of these cities, the stations have reached out and embraced local listeners in a more personal way than ever.
