Nepali radio journalist to get BBC accolade

Nepali radio journalist Jaya Luintel has been selected for the British Broadcasting Corporation’s (BBC) list of 100 Women of 2014, according to Ekantipur.com.

Luintel, 33, is the Founder President and CEO of The Story Kitchen TSK), which aims to amplify women’s issues.

TSK adds women’s voices and perspectives to historical narratives and explores their various roles through innovative media.

Luitel started her career with Radio Sagarmatha and is the Asia Foundation Development Fellow 2014.

The 100 Women list is a pledge from BBC to represent women better in its international news.

This year’s list includes women’s rights activists, scientists, women in the arts, doctors, lawyers, journalists and women in war.
