New York Festivals Radio Awards winners announced

Indian entries with 15 citations were among the Asian winners at the New York Festival’s International Radio Program Awards on Monday. 

94.3 MY FM got a Bronze award in the Information/Documentary category. 93.5 Red FM won two Bronze Awards in the ‘Best Innovation’ and the ‘Best Morning Drive’ categories. Radio Mantra was another Bronze winner in the ‘Best Special Event’ category.

Radio Mantra and Radio Mirchi won three finalist certificates each while Big FM won two and Radio City and Red FM took home one certificate.

Radio Television Hong Kong won five awards with one Gold, two Silvers, a Bronze and five finalist certificates across various categories.

Korea also won five nods from the jury, with BeFM getting a Gold in the ‘Social Issues’ category, a Bronze for KBS in the ‘Best Drama’ category and three Finalist Certificates.

Radio Taiwan International won a Bronze for ‘Best Writing’.

Philippines’ DZMM ABS-CBN production on the Papal visit won a Bronze in the ‘Best Coverage Of Ongoing News Story’ category.

 Abu Dhabi Classic FM was the sole finalist from the UAE for its entry ‘Kids’ Classics’ in the ‘Best Children/Young Adult Program’.

Australia’s ABC was a Silver Radio Winner and Bay FM 99.9 a Bronze Radio Winner, both in the social issues category. The ABC, SBS and Liz Thompson all picked up finalist certificates.

Radio New Zealand and the Christian Broadcasting Association were the New Zealand Winners. Radio New Zealand won Gold and Silver Radio Awards and picked up a few Finalist Certificates across a range of topics. The Christian Broadcasting Association was a Gold Radio Winner for Best Writing and Children’s program.

The 2015 Grand Jury awarded 3 Grand Awards, 53 Gold trophies, 62 Silver, 58 Bronze, and 117 Finalist Certificates submitted from 32 countries. All entries were judged online by the NYF Radio Awards Grand Jury of radio experts from stations and companies around the globe.
