ONE FM reunites Glenn Ong and The Flying Dutchman

Singapore’s ONE FM 91.3 has roped in popular duo Glenn Ong and Mark Van Cuylenburg – better known as The Flying Dutchman to host its breakfast show, bringing them together on air after almost two years.

They will host the SPH Radio station’s show with Andre Hoeden, who was anchoring the show with Part-time Pete.

Ong and Cuylenburg earlier hosted the morning show on MediaCorp’s Class 95 FM.

They have been co-hosts for ten years and their chemistry is legendary among radio fans.

Ong, who left his previous employment in January 2015, says: “I’m excited to be back on-air with a radio station that offers a promise of real, good radio. I’m raring to go after a six month break. It was great that I had time to pursue my passion for Brazilian Jujitsu and spending more time with my loved ones, but I’ve missed radio. I’m refreshed, re-energised, and ready to take on the airwaves again and there is no one else better to do it with than with my radio partner for life.”

The Flying Dutchman, who has been occupied with his business ventures since he left the airwaves in December 2014, is equally excited.

Cuylenburg said: “I mentioned in past interviews that he is my best radio partner and he still is. Together, we keep our show real and our reunion is the beginning of good things to come with a radio station that I believe knows what they are doing. I am lucky to be able to spend more time with my family during my break and concentrate on my business but I would be lying if I said I didn’t miss radio.”

Fans can expect double the entertainment from Glenn and The Flying Dutchman, with real chemistry honed from 10 years worth of co-hosting together.

Jamie Meldrum, Senior Programme Director, ONE FM said: “Glenn and The Flying Dutchman are the perfect fit for ONE FM 91.3 as they have a great understanding of what their listeners want, which translates to great radio. Fans want them back and their radio comeback is highly anticipated. With the full ONE FM team all lined up, it is going to be an awesome year for ONE FM 91.3 and for the men of Singapore.”

ONE FM 91.3 targets men over 30 years old and in the recent Nielsen Radio Diary Survey results, the station debuted with 243,000 cumulative listenership.
