Popular Indian morning host launches RJ training

A workshop for budding radio radio jockeys (RJs) in India is being arranged by acclaimed morning show jock Harsh Singh.

The Radio 101 session – to be held in Mumbai on December 14 – will groom participants for an exciting new career in radio.

The training has been timed for the predicted roll-out of Phase III of private radio licensing that will see 839 FM frequencies auctioned off, creating hundreds of new jobs of RJs.

Questions to be answered will include:

  • What does it take to be a radio jockey?
  • What is the future in this career?
  • What skills and talents are required?
  • How can you train your voice to be a radio voice?
  • How can you use your voice to earn extra income?

There’ll also be basic confidence building and training tips to use your voice.

Singh told Asia Radio Today that the workshop would be ideal for people who are curious about voicing and radio as a career.

Singh was himself India’s first RJ hunt winner.

He’s the only Indian radio jockey with american radio experience and has been a RJ and voice over artist for more than 11 years.

He’s worked at Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM, Radio City 91.1, Fever 104 FM, 92.7 Big FM and HumDesi Radio Toronto, HumDesi Radio New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington and Houston).
