Radio City launches four new stations in Rajasthan

Indian network Radio City has strengthened its presence in the northern state of Rajasthan by launching four more stations in Ajmer, Udaipur, Kota and Bikaner.

Radio City, a part of Music Broadcast Limited, is a subsidiary of Jagran Prakashan Ltd.

Music Broadcast Limited currently has 39 stations, including 11 newly acquired stations in Phase III auctions.

Radio City recently launched a station in Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh – the country’s most populous state, and will be launching Patiala, Patna, Jamshedpur, Nasik, Kolhapur and Madurai soon.

The station launch in Udaipur saw a grand and a royal procession from the Radio City office to the Maharaja palace to seek his blessings.

Popular features like Love Guru, Babbar Sher and Kal Bhi Aaj Bhi were introduced on air by Bollywood heartthrob Hrithik Roshan.

Commenting on the launch, Abraham Thomas, CEO, Music Broadcast Limited, said: “With launch of our four new stations in the key markets of Rajasthan, we are excited to become a strong radio network, covering five cities in the state now. We want to give our listeners the best of localized content and entertainment.”

“I believe Radio City’s attempt to provide maximum music in the state will win many hearts as it has across the nation,” said Roshan.
