Radio Everyone seeks industry support

Radio Everyone is a 7-day pop up, global radio station designed to reach as many of the 7 billion people in the world as possible and bring together the world’s broadcasters.

It forms one part of ‘Project Everyone’ devised by British filmmaker and founder of Comic Relief, Richard Curtis.

In September 2015 a new set of UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will be launched to eradicate extreme poverty and reverse the threats we face from climate change over the next 15 years.

Project Everyone aims to share these goals with every single person on the planet within 7 days of them being announced, between September 26 and October 2, via a huge communication and distribution effort.

Radio Everyone will be at the forefront of Project Everyone activity to exploit radio’s unique position as the world’s most accessible medium and harness the collective power of radio broadcasters to communicate the goals to people across the world.

Its content will be created by the world’s most famous musicians, cultural leaders and broadcasters. They will come together to create brilliant and unique programming, ready to be shared with a network of partner broadcasters.

Broadcasters are being invited to join this global network by putting together programmes focussing on the Goals and their related themes and broadcasting them across the 7 days of Radio Everyone.

Stations in the UK, the USA, India, Nigeria, Kenya and Italy have been confirmed along with live conversations with potential partners around the globe and support from the UN.

Partner broadcasters will have access to a Radio Everyone content kit which will include station sound from the world’s biggest music producers, goals packages in a range of languages, fact packs and exclusive short form content from global celebrities.

A central Radio Everyone online stream will run on the Global Goals site with longer form programmes, and individual pieces of content will be available to stream on demand. This content will be pushed by a range of digital partners.
