Radio Indigo partners with Chandigarh International airport

India’s international radio station Indigo 91.9 FM and Chandigarh International Airport have announced a partnership to launch Chandigarh International Airport Radio (CHIAL Radio).

It is only the second time that a private radio station has been engaged to play curated music at an Indian airport.

Entertainment Network India Limited’s Radio Mirchi was the first radio station to tie up with Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport to launch ‘Radio Mirchi T3’ in 2015.

Through this tie-up, Radio Indigo shall play international music at the airport and in a first, CHIAL Radio shall also have its exclusive presenter who would interact with passengers, announce utility and flight related information in addition to playing their requests.

CHIAL Radio shall play carefully curated music that is customized to map the mood and the time of the day and shall making flying a great experience.

Travelers flying in and out of the airport will now be able to listen exclusively to Radio Indigo across all terminals.

Speaking on the occasion, Satyanaryana Murthy, CEO of Indigo 91.9 FM said: “An international airport like CHIAL truly deserves an international music station. Our offerings have always been niche and we have always endeavored to go beyond being just a terrestrial radio station. We are excited to have CHIAL as the first airport in our RAAS (Radio As a Service).”

Suneel Dutt CEO, CHIAL said: “90% of the flyers of CHIAL are international tourists. Chandigarh airport is the first airport in non-metro category in India to offer this service. We are happy to associate with Indigo which is a pioneer in international music in the country.”
