Radio Mirchi goes non-stop for world’s biggest dance fest

India’s Radio Mirchi is helping listeners dance till they drop during the ten days of the Hindu festival Sharad Navatri.

The period is being celebrated with much zeal across India between October 5 and 13.

In the state of Gujarat, where a traditional group dance – The Garba – originated, Radio Mirchi’s stations have tied-up with venues in each city so listeners can party to the best Gujurati and Bollywood tracks.

More than 100,000 people are expected at the World’s Biggest Garba event in the city of Vadodara, which the station is supporting.

On air, Radio Mirchi’s stations in Gujarat are promising non-stop Garba songs until 3am in the morning.

Top Bollywood playback artists Sukhwinder Singh, Alka Yagnik, Yo Yo Honey Singh and Shaan have recorded their own favourite Garba songs too which are being aired regularly.

Sumit Aggarwal, Vice President – Cluster Head, Gujarat said: “We are really excited about Navratri which is the biggest dance festival in the world.”

“Also, we have never before had integrations like Mirchi Pushpak – a helicopter ride during Navratri in Ahmedabad which will create a lot of excitement for the associated brands.”
