Radio Mirchi listeners get monsoon pick-up

For a fifth monsoon season in a row, India’s Radio Mirchi has helped its listeners brave the heavy rains by offering a free pick-up and drop service.

Under the name Lift Kara De, hundreds of fans of Mirchi’s Mumbai station avoided the long wait for taxis and auto rickshaws – which, just like in many cities, mysteriously disappear when it starts to rain.

Together with Toyota and a local rainwear company, the station deployed a fleet of Radio Mirchi-branded Toyota Etios Liva cars to come to their rescue.

Commuters were picked up from some of the busiest locations in Mumbai and received complimentary rain-gear.

“Over the last four years, we have received a tremendous response and feedback from Mumbaikars on the Lift Kara De campaign,” said Preeti Nihalani, Radio Mirchi Mumbai Cluster Head.  “We hope to continue our efforts to make their lives happy.”
