RED FM RJ to host couple behind foundation for terminally ill kids

India’s Red FM features personalities who are making a positive difference to the society through its initiative ‘Mumbai Ke Asli Heroes’ (Real Heroes of Mumbai).

Mansi Shah (32) and Abhishek Tatiya (27) are two such individuals, who quit their jobs in the social and corporate sectors respectively, and started ‘Happy Feet Home Foundation ’, a hospice for terminally ill kids.

It is a place where these children, in their last days, can spend time in a much happier than normal environment; while undergoing treatment for cancer, HIV, Thalassemia and various other critical illnesses.

The  has over 240 children who have enrolled themselves and is being supported by TATA Memorial Hospital and Lokmanya Tilak Muncipal General Hospital in Mumbai.

They had organized a crowd funding campaign earlier this year, which managed to raise $10500 (Rs700,000).

93.5 RED FM’s RJ Rishi Kapoor is hosting Mansi, Abhishek and some of the kids at the RED FM studio on November 27, where they will also get to interact with the channel’s listeners.

“We always wanted to be the reason for somebody’s happiness, so I had started planning for this back in 2013 itself. After a lot of planning and efforts, Happy Feet Home started its operations in August 2014. ‘Happy Feet Home Foundation’ is all about giving these children’s and their families’ emotional support looking after their nutrition all free of cost,” said Mansi on starting ‘Happy Feet Home Foundation’.
