RED FM, BIG FM and Radio Mirchi have dominated at the Indian Excellence in Radio Awards (ERA) 2014, sponsored by RCS.

The prizes were announced at the end of India Radio Forum 2014 in New Delhi on Friday.

RED FM topped the winners list with 11 awards including for Best Station, Best Imaging and Best Breakfast Show (Hindi) for Mumbai-based RJ Malishka.  She also won RJ of the year (Hindi) for the fifth consecutive year. RED’s sister network Suryan grabbed two awards taking the group’s total to 13.

Reliance Broadcast’s BIG FM scooped nine awards including prizes for Best Programmes (Non Breakfast) in several regional languages including Bengali, Tamil and Telugu.

ENIL Radio Mirchi also saw its regional programming lauded with prizes for Best Programmes in Marathi and Gujarati among others.  Mirchi picked up eight awards in total.

Regional player Mango – based in Kerala – picked up four awards including gongs for its production work as well as RJ of the Year (Malayalam) for RJ Nitha.

The 20 station network Radio City won just two awards,  Radio Mantra, Friends FM in Kolkata and Kerala-based Club FM won one each.

A total of 43 awards were given out in a ceremony hosted by RJ Paragi Dubey of 94.3 My FM and comedian Radhika Vaz.
