Hong Kong singer Karen Mok and Taiwan’s Jay Chou picked up best vocalists (female and male respectively) at the Singapore Hit Awards.
Friday evening’s event was organised by Singapore’s number one radio channel Y.E.S. 93.3FM.
The MediaCorp station pulled in dozens of stars from the Chinese music industry and a 4,500 strong audience for the ceremony.
Perfomers included Taiwan’s Wilber Pan, Denise Ho and Julian Cheung along with Singaporean acts Serene Koong, The Freshman, Ruth Kueo and MICappella.
According to local media, the loudest applause of the night was reserved for Hong Kong veteran pop trio Grasshopper, who picked up The Honorary Award for their contributions to the Mandopop music industry.
