Tea FM partners Chinese cultural show

East Malaysian station Tea FM has been appointed the official radio broadcasting station to publicise the ‘Cultures of China, Festival of Spring’ live performance by the United Chinese Association (UCA), Sibu Division.

The cultural extravaganza, which will be held at the city’s centre on January 17, is sponsored by the China Overseas Exchange Association and will feature China’s top performers.

Jointly set up by KTS Group and Ancom Berhad’s subsidiary Redberry Media Sdn Bhd,  Tea FM is Sarawak’s first Mandarin Chinese and English local private radio station.

Its content is 60 percent Chinese and 40 percent English, focusing on listeners in the 20-40 age group.

It broadcasts from 7am to 7pm in Mandarin, from 7pm to 2am in English and plays non-stop music from 2am to 7am.

It first broadcast in Kuching on August 1, 2015, and in Kota Kinabalu on August 8, 2015.

From December 25, it began broadcasting on 100.7 FM in Sibu.

Tea FM’s Sibu Area contact person, Kelvin Lau, said the station was honoured to be appointed by UCA as the radio broadcasting station for the event.
