Malaysia’s Astro Radio station THR Gegar has launched ‘Projek1 Pensel’  – an initiative aimed at collecting 100,00 pencils and donating it to 100 schools throughout the east coast.

With more than 1.6 million listeners, THR Gegar is one of the most popular stations in the country.

The initiative recognises the importance of a pencil as it marks the beginning of learning for every student.

The project was launched on Wednesday in the presence of radio station personalities including Shah, Zura, Suzana, Nasa, and DJ Nazz.

It is also being supported by local artists Altimet, Eyza Bahra, Aishah Bujang, Najwa Latif , Twinnies, Syuhada, Zahid AF, Eddie Hamid, Encik Mimpi, Nahu & Qya, Lawa Nie Geng and Khai Bahar.

In order to donate, listeners can send their contributions to KRU Gegar that will be positioned at select locations, send it by post to the station headquarters or donate to the Astro Radio branch offices across Malaysia.
