Two stations join Malaysia radio industry body

Pi Mai FM and Ultra FM have joined Commercial Radio Malaysia (CRM) taking the radio industry body’s membership to 21 stations.

Pi Mai FM is an exclusive Malay language station targeting listeners primarily based in Penang, and parts of Kedah and Perak.

Ultra FM, based in the Klang Valley, features a mix of classic and new local and international music, targeting all age groups.

“The commercial Malaysian radio industry is relatively young, and we want to be part of the solidarity that enables CRM to address issues relevant to our industry with a singular voice,” said Hawa Hamid, General Manager of the two stations. “Also, it gives us a chance to actively participate in various CRM activities like Planet Radio and Boot Camp.”

Hawa, who has worked for the three main commercial radio players over the past 14 years, added that she and her company is ready to commit to “playing an effective role within CRM”.

The two stations join CRM as the organisation marks its 21st year of operation.
