UFM100.3 debuts Chinese New Year music video for the Year of the Monkey

Singapore’s Mandarin music station UFM100.3 has launched its latest original Chinese New Year song ‘All Things Good’, performed by its DJs, to welcome the Year of the Monkey.

The song was inspired by recent Mandopop hit songs such as ‘Little Apple’ by the Chopsticks Brothers and ‘Sister’ by Taiwanese singer Jeannie Hsieh.

The electronic-dance music arrangement of the song has an upbeat melody which is catchy yet simple for listeners to sing-along to.

With UFM100.3 celebrating its 15th Anniversary this year, Hu Tianpei, the station’s music producer and composer of the song, skilfully included the word ‘Huat’ (which means ‘to prosper’) 15 times in the song lyrics.

The word monkey (which is a sound-play of the word that stands for ‘good’), appeared 58 times in the lyrics, wishing listeners all things good this Chinese New Year.

The song was accompanied by the release of its music video on UFM100.3 Facebook.

The video features UFM100.3 DJs dressed in pyjamas and flower headbands, singing and dancing to the song.

The team specially invited a professional dancer to choreograph the dance steps for the chorus, and to perform in the music video.

Listeners can log on to UFM100.3 Facebook to catch these wacky videos.
