World Radio Day Gathering in Jakarta

To commemorate World Radio Day (WRD) on February 13, Kelas Penyiar Indonesia community will hold a WRD Gathering in Jakarta, Indonesia.

WRD was proclaimed by UNESCO in 2011 to celebrate radio as a medium, improve cooperation between broadcasters and to encourage major networks and community radio alike to promote access to information, freedom of expression and gender equality over the airwaves.

This year, the UNESCO theme for WRD is ‘Radio in Times of Emergency and Disaster’.

The aim of the WRD Gathering is to educate young people who have a passion for broadcasting.

At the event, Vena Annisa of VoA Indonesia will give a talk titled ‘Grow Success with Radio’.

A Radio Coaching Clinic Radio will also be held, featuring professional announcers from stations in Jakarta and representatives from radioppidunia.org.

It will introduce potential announcers how to deliver and share news and information on radio while creating a social impact.
