Vijay Sadhu, Head of Radio Programming, Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), will be retiring after Radio Asia 2017. She will complete her tenure on June 30, 2017.

Olya Booyar has joined Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) as Head of Radio Programming – Designate. She has previously worked for ABU as  Senior Communications Specialist from 2012 to 2015, revamping and managing communications, publications and regional capacity building initiatives.

Saqib Sheikh is leaving the Asia Pacific Institute for Broadcast Development (AIBD) after 6 years, to take up a university teaching role.

He joined AIBD as a Programme Manager in April 2011 after previously working in the advertising and public relations industries, working as a copywriter in Islamabad, Pakistan and account coordinator for a public relations firm in New York City. He has also completed stints in international agencies such as the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations and the International Center for Transitional Justice.

Allen & Heath has strengthened its team in the Asia Pacific region with the appointment of technical marketing director, Chris Pyne.

Pyne will be providing technical expertise and training via Allen & Heath's partner network, as well as supporting the growing community of touring engineers and rental companies in the region.

Steve Farrugia has been promoted to the position of Chief Technology Officer at Broadcast Australia. He was previously General Manager of Engineering and has been at BA for 17 years.

Atul Razdan joins Reliance Broadcast Network Limited (RBNL), which operates Big FM in India, as the National Programming Head.

With over 14 years of experience in consumer insights, product development and communications, his previous career stints have been with Hershey's India Pvt Ltd and Cadbury India Ltd.

Atul will lead content development initiatives for the existing network of 45 Radio stations as well as upcoming launches in 14 new cities.

With over 13 years experience, she has previously worked with brands like Sodexo, Adidas, MakeMyTrip and Yahoo.

John Abdnour has retired after a 51 year career in broadcasting. Since 2009 John has been Nautel's Asia/Pacific Regional Manager and we are privileged to have worked closely with him over the past 8 years.

Rabi KC has left the Asia Pacific Institute for Broadcast Development after 4 years as Program Manager in Kuala Lumpur. He was previously a Broadcast Engineer at Kantipur FM and a technical officer at ACORAB in Nepal. Rabi will return to Nepal to use his knowledge in his home country.

Steve Pulley has joined iflix as Head of Operation - Middle East & North Africa. Steve was most recently Director of Broadcasting for Dubai-based Gulf News Broadcasting, which managed UAE multi-platform media properties Radio 1, Radio 2, Josh and Hayat FM.

Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union has elected Ko Dae-young, President and CEO of Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) as new President and Ms Supriya Sahu, Director General of Doordarshan-India as new Vice president of its Administrative Council.

The term of the newly elected members of the Administrative Council will be for three years with effect from January 2017.

Veteran Associated Press journalist Tom Kent has been appointed president of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. Kent will be based in RFE/RL's headquarters in Prague.

Sanjay Hemady, who quit as Hit FM CEO last year, has returned to helm the Delhi-based station. He had been with the organistation for nine years when he decided to take a break.

Steve was most recently General Manager of Bamboo Media, where he provided services to international radio stations and local businesses looking to improve premium content services.

Hla Yin Aye has left MandalayFM, Forever Group in Myanmar after 8 years in on air and management roles. She is now working as a freelance radio consultant and managing an audio engineering school in Yangon - AES Myanmar Creative Media Institute.
